Meet the Mata’s

David Mata began his vision for a high-quality, client-focused personal training company in 2016. What started as small training sessions in Denton’s local parks quickly evolved after David secured his first business agreement with a local gym in 2017.

Since then, David and his wife, Lauren, have grown Perfected Bodies into Denton’s premier personal training program—known for hands-on coaching, accountability, and real results. Today, they proudly own Perfected Bodies Gym, the only gym in Denton built around quality over quantity—focusing on personalized attention, high-touch service, and meaningful time spent with every client and member.

Perfected Bodies also performs background checks on all new hires to ensure the absolute highest standard of safety, professionalism, and fitness experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

  • David Mata

    Co-Owner, Personal Trainer

    David is the owner and founder of Perfected Bodies. He is engaged to his fiancée, Lauren Garrett, and they share two sons and three standard poodles. With over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, David has been personal training and managing gym operations since 2010.

    Lauren is the co-owner of Perfected Bodies and a personal trainer. Engaged to David, the founder, she has long been passionate about health and fitness. Before becoming a trainer, Lauren dedicated years to her own fitness journey, working with trainers and maintaining a strong commitment to personal well-being. Her dedication to the industry has fueled her ambition to build a career in health and fitness.

    Hi! I’m Moy Garcia, and I’ve been a trainer with Perfected Bodies since 2018.

    Fitness has been a passion of mine for over 10 years, and I’ve had the opportunity to train across multiple disciplines — from bodybuilding and powerlifting to endurance running.

    I love diving into the science of training and nutrition, creating programs that not only help you reach your goals but also keep you moving strong and pain-free. Whether it’s building muscle, improving performance, or overcoming injuries, my mission is to guide you every step of the way.

    PhD, Personal Trainer & Nutritionist

    Hi, my name is Gabriella Grigg. I hold a PhD in Psychology and have spent over two decades in the fitness industry as a certified fitness trainer, professional bodybuilder, and certified nutritionist. My career has taken me to national and international bodybuilding stages, where I’ve proudly represented my passion for strength and discipline.

    As a nutritionist, I specialize in performance-based strategies designed to help athletes and competitors maximize their strength, endurance, and recovery. I’ve had the privilege of coaching bodybuilders and elite athletes across multiple sports, including tennis and swimming.

    More recently, I’ve dedicated my focus to training postmenopausal women and seniors, creating personalized programs that build strength, balance, and flexibility while promoting longevity and confidence. My mission is to empower every client to realize their full potential — physically and mentally.

    As a competitive Muay Thai practitioner and Strength & Conditioning coach, I bring both athletic discipline and practical experience to every session.
